Beach Puppies

Well I meant to take the puppies to the beach last year when they were tiny little peanuts. It didn’t happen because turns out two puppies is a whole lot of chaos. Last Saturday we buckled down and just made it happen…we took the corgis to the beach. It was great and hard and a learning experience for all involved.

On the whole, everyone did well. It was super windy and the waves were uncomfortably strong. My girls played in the water and the sand and enjoyed themselves, even if boogie boarding didn’t happen. The puppies thought seagulls just hovering over their heads was the craziest thing they’ve ever seen and they barked at everyone who walked near our spot. They loved lounging in the shade on our new beach blanket and did the best when I took them walking. They liked the water but not the waves. There aren’t many pictures from this trip because I do, in fact, only have two hands…one for each leash. We almost got blocked in when we wanted to leave by a Tesla that had gotten high centered on a curb behind us. Happily by the time we changed into real clothes a big truck had pulled the Tesla out of the pit and we were able to drive to get pizza and then home to a shower. It was good. However, I’m debating on if I want to bring the puppies when we got to the beach in a few weeks…it might depend on how much obedience training I can squeeze in between now and then.
