Despite the drought all our strawberry people came through. They had to actually water their plants, the first batch were tiny, but still we soldiered on. We made enough jam and strawberry short cake. And thus we welcomed the start of the fruit/veggie season domino line. Strawberries are the first to fall and then the others proceed keeping us in delicious abundance all the way until September.

I never get tired of this annual tradition and blogging ritual. “Strawberry Red” is one of my favorite colors of all time.
