Field Trips. Again.

Field Trips. Again.

I was all ready to launch into how much I’m going to miss field trips now that my munchkins are off to new adventures. Saying I’m going to miss them isn’t wrong per se. It’s just not entirely accurate. As with all my emotions lately…I can’t just pick a lane and feel one thing! No, no! It has to be all nuanced. I will miss them but there is also a measure of relief that comes without the pressure to provide enriching outings to both coordinate with and enhance what we are covering in school. I’m thinking that by the time I have grand-babies I’ll be hankering to plan and execute brilliant field trips again. For now, I’m going to do this final recap and lovingly (with a heart full of gratitude) wave goodbye as I ride off into a summer sunset to begin my teaching sabbatical.

We had some delightful field trips…Corra, Layna, and I. These are some of my favorite pictures covering a few museums, a biology class, a big garden and a animal rescue. Fun was had and we are always ready for more.

It’s not all fun. There are many tired feet. Lots of whining. Some bickering and we are always starving. Desperately hungry regardless of when the last meal happened. Perfection is so boring…sore feet and messed up plans add a bit of color. And as we know, it’s that color that makes life beautiful.
